Brittany (Bonnette) Lane, Research Associate II, has been with the Urban Institute's Center on International Development and Governance since July 2010. At IDG, Ms. Lane manages international projects and contributes to technical work. Some of her duties include country and project research, data analysis, coordination with project field staff and consultants, budget preparation and monitoring, reviewing expenditures and cost forecasts, preparing financial reports, proposal writing, preparation of deliverables, and editing. She currently handles a diverse portfolio of projects in a variety of countries, such as Rwanda, Benin, and Indonesia. In addition to her Research Associate role, Ms. Lane also supports IDG through communications work such as managing the internal and external websites.
Prior to joining The Urban Institute, Ms. Lane worked as an independent bikeshare consultant, producing the Bikeshare Feasibility Study for the City of Philadelphia. She also worked for the University of Pennsylvania as a Sustainability Initiatives Associate, where she assisted in coordinating the University's Climate Action Plan. Ms. Lane received a BA from the University of Pennsylvania with majors in Urban Studies and PPE (Politics, Philosophy, and Economics), obtaining Honors in Urban Studies, and completing a Senior Honors Thesis on creating change through partnerships in urban government. Additionally, she has studied at l'Institut d'Urbanisme de Lyon and l'Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Lyon. She is fluent in English and French and reads and writes intermediate Modern Standard Arabic.
