Disabled individuals and families in federally assisted housing face multiple challenges in gaining access to housing units and services that meet their needs—despite legal frameworks meant to help them. Without improvements in reasonable accommodation processes and service supports, these residents will continue to experience inconsistent processes and uneven support, ultimately leading to inequitable outcomes.

Join the Urban Institute for an important discussion on how to improve housing and service access for people with disabilities living in federally assisted family housing. Policymakers, housing providers, and disability advocates will share their perspectives on what is and is not working to connect residents with diverse disabilities living in federally assisted housing to the housing units and services they need. They will elevate opportunities for strengthening reasonable accommodations processes and service connections and suggest ways for improving support and trust between family housing providers and the disabled residents they house.
