One Million Black Women Research Partnership Convening
Body

The Urban Institute will host a virtual convening highlighting the One Million Black Women Research Partnership, funded by Goldman Sachs. This partnership aims to distill new insights and build synergy around actions and investments that policymakers, funders, and corporate leaders can make to close the racial earnings and wealth gaps for Black women.

This virtual convening will bring together researchers, funders, corporate partners, economic and community development experts, media members, and others to discuss findings and recommendations to close the racial wealth gap. The second cohort of scholars from Historically Black Colleges and Universities, minority-serving institutions, and predominantly white institutions will present their research on Black women and the racial wealth gap as it relates to housing, financial health, access to capital, job creation, and workforce advancement. There will also be dedicated space for participants to engage with each other in breakout rooms to discuss the scholar presentations and investments, policies, and approaches that improve Black women’s financial and economic condition and begin to close the racial wealth gap. We hope this conversation informs future action and creates opportunities for collaboration among participants and attendees.
