Strategies for Practitioners Serving Youth and Young Adults Remotely
Body

One year into the COVID-19 pandemic, youth and young adults ages 16 to 24 have faced unprecedented challenges and interruptions in pursuit of their education and training goals. As youth-serving organizations have adapted their programs to engage youth virtually, they have learned lessons that will remain relevant during recovery from the pandemic and will be helpful to youth advocates, funders, and policymakers.

Join the Urban Institute to discuss findings from a new resource guide for practitioners, which describes creative strategies used by youth-serving organizations to provide education and training, employment, career readiness, and mental health services remotely to young people in ways that advance equity and are impactful for the populations they serve. Our conversation will feature insights from youth-serving program staff at Jewish Vocational Service, i.c.stars, and Baltimore’s Promise on how they support program participants’ success remotely and what challenges and opportunities virtual service delivery presents.
