Sharon K. Long ![]() Sharon K. Long, Ph.D., an affiliated scholar with the Health Policy Center, is a professor in the School of Public Health at the University of Minnesota and a senior economist at the University’s State Health Access Data Assistance Center (SHADAC). Dr. Long’s current work includes evaluations of health reform, including the 2006 landmark reform effort in Massachusetts, and analyses to support states as they begin planning for and implementing national health reform. In other work with Health Policy Center staff, she is studying the impacts of the recession on safety net providers and state variation in Medicaid costs.
